April 3rd. "Even If" by Abe Park

Deuteronomy 4:25-31  When I read the first few verses, I was overcome by fear. I was fearful of how God's anger gets aroused, and cringed at the words that were spoken to God's people. I was also fearful because I know that there has been times in my life where I've done evil in the eyes of the Lord. I reminded that without Jesus, my fate would be no different than to worship idols who aren't worth it and quickly perish. Then verse 29 turns my emotions upside down and gives me hope. 29 But if from there you seek the Lord your God, you will find him if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul. When you are in distress and all these things have happened to you, then in later days you will return to the Lord your God and obey him. Even if... Even if I have done evil in the eyes of the Lord, even if I've worshipped the idea of acceptance and praise, cars, or even a nice house, made of stone and wood that cannot see or hear or eat or smell, there is hope. If I seek the Lord MY God with all of my heart and soul, I will be again reunited with God . I pray that my goals wouldn't be centered around the treasures the world has to offer, but I would be centered around the treasures of heave that God has to offer. In Jesus name...
