Summary: An angel tells Joseph to trust that Mary's child is according to the will of God, and he commits to loving and raising Jesus as his own son.
Key Verse: 20 But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.
Reflection: But I am reminded by today's passage, that we don't have to be afraid when troubles are in our family, because all the things that are happening are according to God's will even when it's hard. My wife has been sick and one of my sons has had trouble being independent, and sometimes I was afraid that I did something wrong, or angry that something unfair had happened. However, God's word to me is that I should have peace and joy because it is all from the Holy Spirit. God has a plan to make us strong when we are weak, and God's glory when show when we have faith.
Prayer: Dear God, we thank you for telling Joseph not to be afraid. May every father and husband feel the same peace, as you reassure us that you are in control. In Jesus' name.
