In this season of lent, I believe God is telling us to take time. To receive, we need to take time to articulate our requests to God, and to cast our anxieties and burdens at the feet of Jesus. To repent, we need to take time to respond to the alarms, so that instead of flailing our arm to hit snooze, we can gain the perspective that Jesus wants us to have. To restore, rather than cutting off those who have disappointed us, we need to take time to follow Jesus' example and lovingly correct and reinstate them. In this coming week, we will consider what it means to take time to dream. Haggai, a prophet who lived during a time of rebuilding after crisis, takes time to dream about what God can do with a life that is devoted to God's purpose. May we do the same.
